Getting started

Welcome to Notory. This guide takes you from sign-in to your first managed asset in a few minutes.

1. Sign in

Open your instance (e.g. https://inventory.your-company.com) and sign in with your admin credentials. On first launch you create the first tenant and an administrator.

2. Tenants & roles

Notory is multi-tenant. Each tenant has its own data; users are assigned roles:

• Super admin / admin - administration, settings, license.
• Manager / technician - create and edit data.
• Viewer - read only.

3. Create your first asset

Open Assets → Add asset, choose the type and fill in name, serial number and optionally financial/lifecycle data (purchase price, depreciation, EOL). Every asset gets a QR code.

4. Capture automatically

Instead of manual entry (Pro and up):

• Discovery - network scan via Discovery → New scan; import found devices as assets with a click.
• Inventory agent - create an agent under Discovery → Inventory Agents, download it and run it on endpoints; OS and installed software are reported automatically.

5. Check license status

Under Admin → License you see the plan, limits, active modules and the instance ID of this installation. Details: Licensing.
