Licensing
Notory is licensed by asset count and plan. Without a license key the installation runs in the free Community mode (max 30 assets, core modules).
Plans & limits
- Community - up to 30 assets, 1 tenant (trial).
- Basic - up to 250 assets.
- Pro - up to 2,500 assets, all core modules, SSO, discovery.
- Elite - up to 5,000 assets, + provisioning & webhooks.
- Enterprise - > 5,000 assets, asset-metered.

How is it enforced?
The license is a signed key (RSA). The product verifies it offline at startup and on requests:
- Asset limit - above the limit, creating further assets is blocked.
- Module gating - modules are active or inactive depending on the plan.
- Tenant limit - number of tenants per plan.
Instance binding
Every installation has a unique instance ID (under Admin → License). A license can be bound to this ID - it is then valid exclusively in exactly this installation and cannot be reused. Provide your instance ID with your order if you want a bound license.
Apply a license
- Set
LICENSE_KEYin the.envand restart the backend service, or - enter the key in the admin area (if enabled).
You can see the status (plan, limits, active modules, expiry date, instance ID) at any time under Admin → License.
Renewal & upgrade
For more assets or a plan change we issue a new license. Expiring licenses automatically fall back to Community mode until a valid key is in place - your data is preserved.
